John S. Latsis was born on 15 September 1910

John S. Latsis was born on 15 September 1910 in Katakolo in the western Peloponnese. He was the sixth of nine children born to Spyros Latsis, a grocer with distant origins from Arvanitiko Kanali – a village in Corfu formed in the early 17th century by families that immigrated to the island from Albania – and Aphrodite Efthymiou, who hailed from the town of Pyrgos in the western Peloponnese
